Rules

Maximum 10 teams allowed.
Teams of 2 members.
Each team will be given a debate topic on the spot.
Participants will get 5 minutes to adjust themselves.
Judging criteria: content, confidence, rebuttal, and clarity.
No personal attacks or offensive language allowed.
Judges' decision will be final.
Participants shall be solely responsible for their personal belongings and any liabilities arising during the event. The organizing committee shall not be held accountable for any loss, damage, or unforeseen circumstances affecting participants

Format & Winning Criteria

Debate Format

10:00 - 10:10 AM: Introduction & overview of the debate rules.
10:15 - 10:50 AM: Round 1 – Opening Speeches (3-5 minutes per team).
10:55 - 11:20 AM: Round 2 – Rebuttal Round (3-5 minutes per team).
11:20 - 11:30 AM: Winner Announcement.

How to Win

Clarity of Argument (25%): Well-structured and logically presented arguments.
Rebuttals (20%): Effectively addressing and countering opposing arguments.
Use of Evidence (20%): Supporting claims with facts, statistics, or examples.
Presentation Skills (15%): Confidence, tone, pace, and body language.
Engagement & Teamwork (10%): Coordination and smooth transitions between team members.
Use of Notes (10%): Minimal reliance on notes; excessive use leads to deductions.
